Now what is radar
Radar represents radio detecting and ranging and since indicated by the name, it truly is based on the utilization of radio waves. Radars send electromagnetic waves a lot like wireless computer networks and mobile phone devices. The signals are sent as short pulses that could be reflected by objects of their path, partly reflecting returning to the radar. Radars within their basic form have four primary ingredients:

A transmit/receive switch that tells the antenna when you should transmit and when you should receive the pulses.
An antenna to send out these pulses out in the atmosphere and have the reflected pulse back.
A receiver, which detects, amplifies and transforms the received signals into video format.
The received signals are displayed on an exhibition system. Radar output generally also comes in two forms: reflectivity and velocity. Reflectivity is really a measure of just how much precipitation exists in a very particular area. Velocity is really a measure of the velocity and direction with the precipitation toward or out of the radar. Most radars can measure reflectivity and you need a doppler radar to measure velocity.
